Why join the GOHCA?

Who can join the GOHCA?

  •   All Oak Hills residents are eligible for membership in the Greater Oak Hills Civic Association. 

  •   The membership fee is $50.00 and is based on a calendar year from January to December. 

                     
  GOHCA ACHIEVEMENTS THROUGH THE YEARS

Beautification Communication Public Works Security Social
* Entrance signs placed and refurbished

* Brick walls and sign painted at Highland Rd.

* Landscaping and maintenance at all entrances

* Deed restrictions enforced to help maintain property values

* Contests such as Christmas Decorations, 4th of July Red, White & Blue Mailbox contest, and Yard of the Month

* Beautification committee

 

 

* Neighborhood directory - a new one was published in 2011 for members only

* Quarterly newsletter published and delivered to your door

* Automated phone tree system for contacting all Oak Hill residents

* Member of Federation of Civic Associations in B.R.

* Guidelines are set and voiced to developers that affect Oak Hills

* Representation of over 600 homes as we voice our opinions/vote at our Metro Council Meetings

* Welcoming committee

* Membership committee

* Block captain coordinators and block captains to aid in collecting and distributing neighborhood information

* Web site communication

* Streets repaved

* Sidewalks repaired

* Some drainage and sewage problems addressed and repaired - these are still being addressed

* Stop signs installed to slow traffic

* Missing street signs replaced

* Regional developments & zoning issues that affect our neighborhood are watched and dealt with accordingly

* Regional development committee

 

* Additional security patrols throughout the week

* Safety Liaison Committee

 

* Yearly socials such as Ice Cream Social, Ladies Fall Tea, and Christmas pictures with Santa
